What will this training cover?

  • Intro to TGDI Terminology and Bodies

The training will begin with a short introduction to Transgender, Gender Diverse, and Intersex terminology, bodies, and care frameworks. This will include: a reflexion on embodiment, social structures and misconceptions working against TGDI identities, and an introduction to intersex variations, gender dysphoria, and gender euphoria.

  • Eating Disorders as a Social Justice Issue

FEDUP is a collective of trans+, intersex, and gender diverse people who believe eating disorders in marginalized communities are social justice issues. This section explains the entire framework behind this belief, and definition, from our current understandings of bodies and eating disorders, to the powers that work against a holistic and accessible path to coping, healing, and existing with an eating disorder.

  • An Overview of Care Needs

TGDI health is underrepresentend, underdiscussed, and pathologized within the current healthcare framework. This section will provide pillars on how to treat, speak, and understand the unique components of trans and intersex health, and how to intersect with nutrition, medication, and care.

  • Discussing Body Dysmorphia

One of the most common questions and struggles providers report having in giving affirming care is understanding how body dysmorphia and gender dysphoria affect one another. This section goes over the clinical framework for both of these, and provide considerations and questions in treating clients that exist within a body and self with these interact with one another.

  • Putting this Information into Practice

This final section is an opportunity for attendees to ask concrete questions about applying the content of this workshop to their practice, life, and professions. A defined section is drafted for this section, but the hope and intent is to take this beyond the workshop, and discuss different barriers, liabilities, and cases as a group.

The training will be:

  • virtual.

  • $100 per attendee.

  • community run and created.

  • 2 hours long.
